Dear CofC Members This has been a very exciting year for the CofC. The General Officers attended the UDC Convention in Rodgers, Arkansas, where we had a very productive meeting and a fun time. All the General Officers have worked hard this year on their projects and goals. I want to encourage each of you to get actively involved at the Chapter, Division, and General levels. You will gain so much and meet wonderful people all across the country. The General Winter Board meeting was held in Biloxi, Mississippi, in January. I want to offer a special thank you to the Beauvoir staff for allowing us full use of the grounds at Beauvoir and giving us the grand tour. While there, I was able to present a check for $7,903.20 that was raised at last year’s General Convention. While there, the General Officers and myself were able to work to remove the brick walkway leading up to the Davis’ home. We hope that our volunteer hours made a difference. If there are historical sights in your area, please be active in preserving those sights. Volunteering gives you a great sense of pride and accomplishment. I want to encourage Chapters to get involved with my project to raise $200.00 in honor of President Davis’ birthday. This is so important in helping to preserve our heritage. I look forward to receiving your donations at the General Convention. I know you all are working very hard; please keep up the good work. I want to personally invite you to the 2008 General Convention to be held in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The General Convention Committee has been working very hard to ensure that we have a productive and fun General Convention. I wish you the best of luck at your Division Conventions, and I hope to see you all in July. Let Us Remember DAVIS
