Miss Callie Herold
President General 2011–2012

Thank you for electing me to serve as your President General. This year we have begun to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the War Between the States. It is so important for us as the CofC to do what we can to look back and remember what our Confederate ancestors fought for and why we are members of this Organization.

I am ready to ensure that our southern history and our beloved Confederate ancestors are not forgotten. Will you join me? Will you join me in “Looking back and remembering 150 years”? As your President General, I challenge you to get involved and be a part of our Organization and this special time in our history.

I challenge you, the Children of the Confederacy to be the protectors of the past. We must make sure to always be the guardians of our Confederate heritage so that it will live on and never be forgotten.

Our theme for the year is “Looking Back and Remembering 150 Years.”

This theme will encourage all of us as we work together and as we look back and remember this special time in our Southern history.

I propose that we follow in the footsteps of our ancestors as we look  back and remember. Every Division, every Chapter, and every CofC member  will have the opportunity to take part during the next year.

  • I am challenging each Division and Chapters Where No Division to raise $150.00 and donate this money to its UDC Division or CWND Sesquicentennial Project. Remember the money you raise will stay in your Division.  Please join me in making each Division's sesquicentennial commemoration a time that will long be remembered.
  • I encourage every member to donate $1.50 for Buck$ for Book$. Money will be used to purchase books for the Presidential Library at Beauvoir.
Together, we can use this sesquicentennial period in our history as a tool to learn and teach others the real truths of the War Between the States and honor the memory of our brave Confederate ancestors. As CofC members, we must never forget!

So I challenge you to “Look Back and Remember 150 Years” We, the Children of the Confederacy, must be strong and have the same resolve and commitment that our Confederate ancestors had as they marched into the fields of fire. Now is the time. We must remember.

If I can help you in any way, please contact me. I am always ready to assist you.  Thank you again for the opportunity to serve this great Oorganization as your President General.
