Because we desire to perpetuate, in love and honor, the heroic deeds of those who enlisted in the Confederate Services, and upheld its flag through four years of war, we, the children of the South, have united in an Organization called the "Children of the Confederacy," in which our strength, enthusiasm and love of justice can exert its influence.

Mr. Seth Cook
President General 2012–2013
I am truly honored to be elected as President General of the Children of the Confederacy. To be elected during the Sesquicentennial made it even more special to me. I know that you have placed a huge responsibility on me, and I want you to know that I will work hard to do a good job.

I want to thank Mrs. Janet Johnson, our Director General, for all that she does for our Organization. We could not do it without her. Also, I want to thank all of the ladies of the Arkansas UDC for all the support they have shown to me over the years.

I have chosen as a theme “We Can.” To help everyone remember this theme, I have come up with an acronym. It is my hope that we will all work together to make this a great CofC year!

Theme: “We Can”

W Work to recruit new members into the CofC
E Endeavor to get CofC members actively involved at all levels
C Continue commemorating the Sesquicentennial
A Advance the objectives of our Organization
N Never forget our Wounded Warriors
